Exciting Collaborative Drama Workshops starting up again soon! In these classes the kids create their own characters and have voice in what happens on stage – they work together to create dynamic physical performances which they are proud and excited to be a part of!
Monday 4 to 5pm – 10 weeks of workshops for 4 to 6 year old’s leading to a performance of ‘The Gruffalo’ – the funny story of a brave and clever mouse who outwits the animals of the forest – and then outwits the hairy (but not too scary!) ‘Gruffalo’! This group will be the supporting cast and will play theatre games, work on acting as different animals through improvisation and then move on to work with direction as an introduction to acting. They will collaborate with the Tuesday class, working towards the same show which will be performed early in December. Date to be confirmed. Classes and performance will take place at The Electric Lodge, Venice. There will be no workshop on Columbus Day. Cost $250. Workshop starts on Monday, September 17th.
Tuesday 4 to 5:30pm 12 weeks of workshops for 7 to 10 year old’s leading to the same performance of ‘The Gruffalo’!…the story of the brave and clever mouse who outwits all the animals in the forest including the hairy, but not too scary, Gruffalo! The children in this class will take the main characters and will work on acting with direction, improvisation, blocking, stage presence and vocal projection. The classes will take place and the show will be performed at the Electric Lodge early December – date to be confirmed. This workshop begins on TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 11TH. Cost $300.
Wednesday 4 to 5:30pm ‘Shaking Up Shakespeare’ ….this 12 week class is aimed at 9 to 12 year old’s who are keen to bring Shakespeare alive with dynamic physical performances! In this class we will play with the magnificent text and bring clear meaning to it through discussion and fun improvisational exercises, then work on blocking, stage presence, vocal projection and character development to create short scenes from A Midsummer Nights Dream and Macbeth. Classes will take place in Marina Del Rey (address provided upon request) and performance will take place at The Electric Lodge, Venice. Workshops begin on Wednesday, September 12th. Cost $275
Coming soon! FUNNY FRIDAYS…..and hour of laughter….in this ‘improv’ class where students will play improv games and create new scenes & characters every week with the use of props & costumes. Fridays, 4 to 5pm ages 7 to 12. Drop in cost $14, or 5 for $50 (to be used consecutively). Starting September 21st.

Hi Diana – thanks for looking us up!
The winter camp will be happening for sure – it’ just for a week before christmas…not quite sure of the dates as I need to find out when it works best for those who want to attend…perhaps you can help with that? At Winter Camp we focus on cozy activities like story telling, gift making and cookery.
The next Dramabee activity is our play – happening on November 23rd at 4pm at The Electric Lodge, it’s called ‘Meet the Twits’ and is based on some characters in a story that Roald Dahl wrote…very funny.
The workshops will begin again after Christmas half way through January – not sure what the theme will be yet, but they are always on Monday from 4 til 5pm.
